About Marketing Mix Modeling

MMM helps businesses understand the effectiveness of each marketing component in driving sales and achieving organizational objectives.

It is based on statistical analysis of historical data, including media spend, pricing, sales figures, and external factors like seasonality or competition. Successful implementation requires a reliable and well-structured dataset covering at least 2–3 years.

The model enables marketers to measure the ROI of individual channels, optimize budget allocation, and run “what-if” simulations for future campaigns. Based on those learnings, model forecasts future activities.
It optimises investments between the communication channels and activities and within the channel. For example, for TV: Based on previous ROI, carry-over of TRPs ad price, it plans how much budget is most optimal, what levels of weekly TRPs should be planned and how to plan the breaks. Depending on the data granularity, it can also suggest best TV channel split. Thus, it also helps with negotiations with media owners.
